James C. Klettheimer helps leaders anticipate risk, strengthen organizational resilience, and make confident decisions in complex environments. As Founder and Principal Consultant of ASPIS Solutions Group, James advises executive leadership, governing boards, attorneys, critical infrastructure providers, educational institutions, faith-based organizations, corporations, and private clients facing consequential organizational challenges.

Before founding ASPIS Solutions Group, James served more than 21 years with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in increasingly complex investigative, operational, and leadership assignments. His senior assignments included representing the FBI within the United States Department of Defense, where he worked with senior military, national-security, and law-enforcement leaders to strengthen strategic relationships and interagency collaboration.

His FBI career culminated in a full-time assignment to the Central Intelligence Agency, where he served as the FBI’s senior representative within the

Mission Center. Working across both agencies, James helped integrate intelligence, law-enforcement authorities, and operational resources against transnational organized criminal networks. His work was recognized by the CIA for excellence in Intelligence Community and law-enforcement collaboration.

James also served for 15 years as an FBI SWAT Operator and supported nationally significant protective and crisis-response operations. These experiences reinforced the disciplines that continue to guide his work today: preparation, sound judgment, discretion, collaboration, and calm decision-making under pressure.

Today, James applies those principles to help organizations understand what matters most, evaluate what could disrupt it, and prepare before consequential decisions become urgent. His approach combines strategic judgment, investigative thinking, relationship-building, and practical implementation, informed by internationally recognized risk-management principles, including ISO 31000.

James holds an MBA from Auburn University and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University, with executive education in strategic change and leadership through Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
